“You must never stop being whimsical. And you must not, ever, give anyone else the responsibility for your life.”

  • Founder & Therapist

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Willow Tree Collective. I earned my master’s from Seminary of the Southwest, where I began integrating spirituality and nature into my work. Before becoming a therapist, I cultivated a love for the outdoors and community engagement—shaped by a winding, unexpected path (including a stint living in a horse barn!).

I bring many identities to my work: partner, bio parent and stepparent, entrepreneur, neurodivergent, queer, late bloomer, and community builder. Nature is one of my greatest teachers—I find meaning everywhere, and believe the natural world invites us to slow down, embrace change, and stay rooted in the present.

Outside of work, you’ll find me playing with my kids, birding with my partner, tending to backyard chickens, or deep in conversation with beloved friends. [Learn more about my journey here.]

I look forward to building a safe space with you where you can explore your mind and troubles without fear of judgement. We are here on this journey together to figure out what path of healing and growth is the best for you. My goal is to help you recognize and utilize your strengths to help you find your solutions. Together, we will walk the path of achieving your goals. You are the expert in your own healing. In the times that you are having trouble believing in yourself, I will be there to hold that space for you. We are a team!

I obtained my Masters in Mental Health Counseling at the Seminary of the Southwest. I graduated with a bachelors in sociology from UT in 2019. Last year, I moved to Thailand to teach English and made the choice to do so in order to fully immerse myself in a different culture, especially one where mental health was not so outwardly spoken about. Coming from an Asian background myself, I understand the deep stigmatization that comes with mental health struggles. I have learned so much in my short time living abroad, things that I will bring into my work as an LPC. My hope is to create a safe space for everyone, inclusion of those from all different backgrounds but especially my Asian American folks. I hope to provide culturally competent services to whom I am fortunate enough to work with.

Thank you for choosing me. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on this journey.

Claire Meade Associate Therapist at Willow Tree Collective

Claire Meade

LPC associate

  • Supervised by Maria Reyna, LPC-S

Hello! My name is Claire, and I am an LPC-Associate. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling from Seminary of the Southwest right here in Austin, Texas. The decision to pursue mental health and counseling as a career came closer to mid-life for me (fellow late-bloomers, where y’all at?!). I have a background in non-profit, community-oriented work, and currently direct a home repair program at a local non-profit in town when I am not in the therapy office! I feel so much passion and gratitude for the opportunities to engage in the meaningful and collective work of being human.

Life can just be hard, eh? We are thrown curve balls we aren’t expecting, experience loss we never imagined, and learn new things about ourselves at any age. My hope for our time together is to foster safety and connection and explore the relationship with ourselves, our loved ones, the Earth, and our humanity. This can take many forms, and looks a little different with each person. I practice a non-judgmental and relational approach that centers you and your experiences. I also don’t shy away from acknowledging the inequitable systems and cultural factors we all exist within. We all deserve to seek and find support and peace in our lives, and I desire to promote a safe space in our counseling sessions together for every part of our identity to be seen, heard, and cherished.

Therapist Daniel Crooks LPC associate at Willow Tree Collective

Daniel Crooks

LPC associate

  • Supervised by Eva Escobedo, LPC-S

Hi, my name is Daniel Crooks and I am an LPC-Associate. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, following a Masters in Psychology from Grand Canyon University.

With myself and with my clients, I have seen how healing can occur through the felt sense of safety and relational presence. By creating a safe place where judgment and shame can be met with compassion, beautiful and deep work can happen. By cultivating relational presence through connecting with our true self and others, we are able to have a more cohesive experience in our daily lives. I believe that “others” also includes nature, and reconnecting with the Earth is an intentional act that can do wonders for our brains, our nervous systems, and our bodies. I try to incorporate this, as well as poetry, parts work, and neuroscience into how I show up as a therapist.

I work with individuals moving through grief, trauma, spiritual trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and life transitions, or those who are simply ready to connect with themselves and others on a deeper level.

I am here to create space for everything that is present as we move toward regulation and a more congruent experience in our day to day life.

  • I charge $150 per session and offer a few sliding-scale spots.

I don’t accept insurance at this time, but I can provide a superbill as an out-of-network provider.
